In 1996, the former head of the Rossignol Racing team, Aldo Kuonen, founded the Swiss company AK with a clear vision: to merge technological perfection with a pure passion for skiing. His goal was to create a common bond among enthusiastic skiers worldwide through products where quality always triumphs over quantity. With a strictly limited production of only about 2,000 pairs per year and distribution restricted to a few select dealers, AK remains a symbol of true exclusivity. Each ski is handcrafted in Switzerland with a special touch, featuring a vertically laminated woodcore, Titanal sandwich construction, and the patented Elastac top sheet.
The AK Black model represents 100% uncompromising slalom performance, ensuring the skier will hardly ever lose control. These premium skis are engineered for flawless execution and sharp turns on hardpack snow, remaining rock-solid even at high speeds. Their unique character lies in the combination of a soft center and a finely balanced flex. This allows the skier to carve, slice through the snow, and change the turn radius with absolute ease and intuition. AK Black is just as versatile and adaptable as its owner, guaranteeing it will never let you down on the slopes.

Construction Sandwich Construction
Elastak shock absorbing system - A rubber-based material that makes the skis stable and significantly relieves joint fatigue during prolonged skiing.
Sandwich construction - A special method of bonding layers together in a sandwich construction within a humid environment. Different materials such as wood, steel, fiberglass laminate, carbon, polyethylene, and others are combined. This method creates various specific response points on AK skis, allowing you to adjust the stiffness according to your needs.
Woodcore - The primary material used for the core, manufactured directly in Switzerland from vertically laminated wood laminas. Unlike a foam core, the sandwich core possesses dynamic mechanical properties. Production of such material is expensive, as it requires precise selection and drying of the wood. The unique core of AK skis provides their characteristic grip, durability, and performance on ice.
Titan - A high-tech aluminum alloy with added titanium, which gives the skis exceptional torsional stiffness and stability at high speeds. The material provides powerful energy transmission to the edges and excellent absorption of terrain bumps.
Carbon - An extremely lightweight and strong carbon fiber composite material that increases the dynamics and agility of the skis without unnecessary extra weight. Carbon layers ensure faster ski rebound after a turn and more explosive acceleration.
Fiberglass - A fiberglass laminate in the form of fine threads that binds the individual components within the construction and provides optimal flexibility along the length of the ski. This material adds extra torsional strength and makes the ski's behavior predictable and balanced.
Polyethylene - A high-quality plastic material with an extremely high molecular weight, distinguished by its exceptional wear resistance and low coefficient of friction. It guarantees that the skis will withstand high mechanical loads and temperature changes.
P-Tex surface - A special surface layer and base material that absorbs wax excellently, guaranteeing maximum speed and a perfect glide in all snow conditions. The surface features increased protection against scratching and stone damage.
